The air felt like velvet—and just as thick. Promoted by St Neots CC, the 25 mile TT on the F14/25 required a massive intake of oxygen to stay on pace. As each rider rolled away from the start line, they found a course that gave nothing away, resulting in a series of "honest" times that matched expectations.
Early in the day, Tom Walton set the benchmark with a time of 01:01:05.0, throwing down the gauntlet to the rest of the field.
The leaderboard didn't stay static for long, as Johannes Rom Dahl stormed through the finish to lower the best mark to 00:49:19.0.
Ultimately, it was Frederik Muff Nikolajsen who proved to be the class of the field today. pacing his effort perfectly to stop the clock at 00:48:14 and take the win.
Johannes Rom Dahl put in a valiant ride to secure 2nd place with a time of 00:49:19, while Matthew Smith rounded out the podium in 3rd (00:51:01).
In the Women's category, Bethany Spencer took top honors with a fantastic time of 01:07:44. Shusanah Pillinger followed in second place (01:09:42).
The battle of the Road Bikes saw Francis Schofield emerge victorious, clocking 01:00:49. Tom Walton chased hard to take the runner-up spot in 01:01:05.
A special mention goes to Tom Walton, who produced the ride of the day relative to his handicap, beating his predicted time by +215s.
